Why Journalism?

CONTACT US

Samantha Mangino Hardy

Samantha is currently on maternity leave. She will return to the J-School on a full-time basis in early January 2010. In her absence, please contact Jennifer Kinnard at jkinnard@ku.edu or 785.864.7644.

Welcome the KU School of Journalism Web site! My name is Samantha Mangino Hardy and I am the Recruitment and Retention Coordinator at the J-School. My primary focus is to meet with future undergraduate students and families to discuss the J-School’s academic programs as well as opportunities and resources available to Jayhawk Journalists. I enjoy working one-on-one with students and their families to answer any questions they have about our School and KU. In addition, I manage and develop programs designed for our current students. I truly enjoy my job, and I hope I can be of assistance to you during your college search process.

This Web site is designed to offer you information about the J-School and KU. To the left you will see links to different aspects of the School. Each link is an important component of what our faculty and staff members do each day to enrich our students’ experiences and prepare them for successful careers in journalism.

To the right you will see various links to University offices and departments that you may be interested in visiting. All of these offices make KU “A Great Place to Be.” Please visit them or go to our main Web page at www.ku.edu to search for any department you do not see listed.

Please contact me if you have questions about the School of Journalism or would like to schedule a time to meet. My e-mail is smhardy@ku.edu and my direct phone number is 785.864.4768. If you would like to make a comprehensive campus visit, consider registering for a Jayhawk Day or a Special Visit through KU’s Office of Admissions and Scholarship. You can request to meet with me when you register for a Jayhawk Day. For more information about visiting KU's campus, go to www.admissions.ku.edu/visit or call 785.864.3911.

Thank you for your interest in the William Allen White School of Journalism and Mass Communications. I look forward to meeting with you soon!
