J-School Computer Labs:

Spring 2011 Lab Hours for Stauffer-Flint and the Dole Center

The School provides computer and broadcast laboratories for student use in both Stauffer-Flint Hall and the Dole Center. Lab hours will be updated and posted online each semester. Students may sign-up online for editing time and equipment on a first-come, first-serve basis in the Weir Production Laboratory in the Dole Center: Reservation System Instructions

There are adequate laboratory resources available for students who complete their assignments in a timely manner.

This website provides links to several programs, including the following: Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Powerpoint, Microsoft Access and Dreamweaver. Under each you’ll find available the link to the PDF handout that goes with the workshop, for which students can register at no cost.

The following website, http://ehub.journalism.ku.edu/input/, provides information for posting multimedia material online, including these tutorials, and more: Information includes: Input/Output, Final Cut Pro, Moveable Type introduction, advanced HTML, Adobe Photoshop introduction, creating charts and graphs with Excel, PopStar digital sign system, and creating slideshows with Powerpoint, Final Cut Pro.
