Ed2010
Ed2010 is a community of young magazine editors and magazine-editor wannabes who want to learn more about the industry so they can fulfill their dreams of landing top editing and writing positions in the magazine industry. Ed2010.com is an online resource for internship/job listings, advice, intern diaries, classes, meetings and general magazine education info. Ed has chapters across the U.S., Canada, and in the Britain, and an ever-growing family of college campus chapters. The KU chapter was formed in 2011.

KU Ad Club
KU Ad Club explores various aspects of the advertising industry by bringing in guest speakers, providing networking opportunities, attending the Kansas City Career Day and arranging agency crawls in cities such as Chicago, Dallas, New York and Kansas City. Ad Club is an excellent way to find out more about advertising and strengthen contacts within the industry. The KU Ad Club has strong connections to the Kansas City chapter of the American Advertising Federation (AAF), which promotes the future of advertising, marketing and communications in the greater Kansas City area. AAF-KC is dedicated to good fellowship and a free exchange of ideas among its members. AAF-KC encourages high standards of practice within the industry and recognize the excellence and achievements of its members.

Journalism Student Ambassador Program (JSAP)
The Journalism Student Ambassador Program consists of a select group of student volunteers who are committed, in thought and through their actions, to the positive promotion of the KU William Allen White School of Journalism and Mass Communications. Ambassadors lead tours of the Journalism School in Stauffer-Flint Hall and Dole. In addition, the student volunteers represent the School at events and programs sponsored by the School.

Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA)
The purpose of the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) is to cultivate a favorable and mutually advantageous relationship between students and professional public relations practitioners. The student society aims to foster an understanding of current theories and procedures of the profession; appreciation of the highest ethical ideals and principles; and awareness of an appropriate professional attitude. Students who serve as officers in the KU chapter of PRSSA have the opportunity to attend the group's annual convention in the fall.

Social Media Club at KU (SMCKU)
Social Media Club at KU members are committed as a team to come up with innovations that help businesses and shape the future of mass communication. SMCKU benefits the university student body and local community as it embraces the idea "social media for the social good." SMCKU aims to create public awareness of social media outlets, to provide a networking platform and career opportunities, and to create a learning environment for members to gain real world experience of social media marketing.

Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ)
The Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ) is the nation’s most broad-based journalism organization, dedicated to encouraging the free practice of journalism and stimulating high standards of ethical behavior. SPJ promotes the free flow of information vital to a well-informed citizenry; works to inspire and educate current and future journalists through professional development; and protects First Amendment guarantees of freedom of speech and press through its advocacy efforts. The Society of Professional Journalists is dedicated to the perpetuation of a free press as the cornerstone of the United States and its liberty. The KU chapter brings in guests speakers on relevant topics, hosts networking and social events, and promotes the School of Journalism through its events and activities. SPJ is an excellent way for journalism students in the news and information track to learn about the industry and make connections.
