Reservation System Instructions

FALL BREAKJOURNALISM LAB HOURS: The Stauffer-Flint computer labs will be closed Thurs., Oct 12, through Sat., Oct 14. The lab will be open again starting Sunday. The Dole Media Lab will close Wed., Oct. 11 at 5 p.m. and will reopen Monday, Oct. 16, at 10 a.m.

The computer labs in Stauffer-Flint Hall and the Dole Center contain computers and equipment for writing, editing, page layout and design, photo scanning and manipulation, audio recording and editing, video recording and editing, and more.

The labs are open to all journalism majors most evenings and during the days when no class is using the lab. The lab hours change every semester, depending on class schedules, so be sure to check posted schedules.

A lab monitor will be on duty at all times during scheduled lab hours. The monitors are here to help you and will do their best to solve any problems you have.

Reservation System Instructions

HOURS: The labs are open Monday through Thursday from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m. and Sundays from noon until 10 p.m. Computers are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. All times are subject to change. There are adequate lab resources available for students who complete their assignments in a timely manner.

18 Apple eMac Student Stations with: Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), Safari, iLife ’04 (iMovie, iPhoto, iDVD), 1 Apple G5 Instructor Station, and 1 central HP 4200 printer.

STAUFFER-FLINT - ROOM 103
One Apple G4 with: Adobe Creative Suite (Indesign, Photoshop, Acrobat, Illustrator, GoLive), Microsoft Office (Word, Powerpoint, Excel), iLife ’04 (iMovie, iPhoto, iDVD), Safari, with 2 printers networked to rooms 103 & 105—a Zerox Color Printer and a HP LaserJet 5000 IV.

Reservation System Instructions

HOURS: The Weir Production Laboratory in the Dole Center will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays; 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Fridays; and noon to 5:00 p.m. each Saturday and Sunday to the end of this semester. Students may reserve editing time and equipment on a first-come, first-serve basis. There are adequate lab resources available for students who complete their assignments in a timely manner.

Analog video editing rooms, equipped for tape-to-tape editing.

DOLE - ROOMS 2082, 2083, 2085, 2086 & 2087
Advanced non-linear editing suites with Apple Final Cut Pro audio and video editing software, iDVD.

DOLE - ROOM 2091
Basic non-linear editing room with 8 iMac G5s, Final Cut Express audio and video editing software, iDVD.

DOLE - ROOM 2084
Equipment room, not an open lab—check out cameras, lights, etc., here.
