2008 J-School Career Fair

Journalism graduates work in a variety of fields, including newspaper, broadcast, online, advertising, corporate, sales, magazine and business communications.

STUDENTS:
Students can view Strategic Communication and News and Information internships and jobs on the School of Journalism's online listing service. Students should also check out CareerConnections, another helpful University job and internship listing site.

NEW RESOURCE:
The Journalism Career Center is pleased to announce we have just added the Vault Online Career Library to our career resources. Vault is the world's leading source of career information. It will make your efforts at researching employers, industries, and career subjects infinitely easier and more efficient. This new online resource contains:

  • Vault Career Guides and Employer Profiles in PDF
  • 4,000 Company Profiles
  • 3,000 Vault career advice articles
  • Industry and occupational profiles

EMPLOYERS:
Employers can list internship and job openings free of charge. To assist our alumni, we also post jobs that require experience. Please send a brief job description, including a contact person's name, to the Journalism Career Center. Employers may also fax the information to (785) 864-5318.

ALUMNI:
The School of Journalism’s Career Center provides information about journalism jobs that require at least two years of experience. This job listing service is for jobs that require two-four, three-five, five-seven and 10 or more years of experience. We hear about such positions on a regular basis and post the listings here.
