The School of Journalism is home to three organizations active in improving journalism education on the state, regional and national levels.

KSPA - Kansas Scholastic Press Association
The Kansas Scholastic Press Association is a non-profit organization composed of Kansas high school and junior high school journalism teachers and their students.
This organization is committed to excellence in journalism at all levels and focuses on providing journalism education leadership for Kansas teachers and students. KSPA operates numerous contests, conferences and scheduled activities throughout the year.

KJI - Kansas Journalism Institute
The Kansas Journalism Institute is one of the nation's best-known summer journalism programs. Each year, it draws about 200 participants from a dozen or more states to the University of Kansas campus.

ACEJMC - Accrediting Council on Education in Journalism and Mass Communications
The Accrediting Council on Education in Journalism and Mass Communications, or ACEJMC, is the agency responsible for the evaluation of professional journalism and mass communications programs in colleges and universities.
