About the KU campus
The KU campus is widely known as one of the most beautiful
in the country. It sits in the middle of Lawrence, atop Mount
Oread, the highest point for miles, and looks out over broad
valleys. Many campus buildings are built of native Kansas
limestone with roofs of red tile, giving the campus a beautiful
and uniquely unified appearance. The campus is richly planted
with trees, shrubs and flowers.
