Expertise

Dr. Geana practiced as a family physician for seven years and has six years of experience in health communication with an emphasis on design and implementation of strategic communication plans for the medical/pharmaceutical market. He also has experience as editor in chief of Medical Update, a peer-reviewed medical journal and as publisher of Oxigen, a patient information magazine and Medical Horizons, a newspaper for Romanian healthcare professionals. His main health communication interests focus on diffusion of knowledge about medical innovations for professionals and the general public and mass communication about cancer prevention, screening, treatment, and prognosis. Geana is interested in psychophysiology and the use of physiological measures to evaluate the link between emotional cues and attention and recall of health-related media messages.
