Scott Reinardy joined the faculty of the journalism school at the University of Kansas in August 2008. He comes to KU from Ball State University, where he taught for three years. Reinardy spent his professional journalism career in the newspaper industry as a sportswriter and news editor.
Reinardy uses his experience in sportswriting to research the effects of the job on sportswriters. His work has been published in many educational publications related to the journalism field.
Reinardy chose to teach at KU because of "the tremendous people and educational program he encountered while visiting the campus." He was also impressed by the students he met who "genuinely seemed to love journalism and wanted to work hard in the classroom."
