The best part of my job is working with the wide
variety of students, university staff and faculty.
Cindy Nesvarba
Cindy Nesvarba technically is an administrative specialist
for the School of Journalism. Recently, Cindy has taken on
different responsibilities as the graduate records coordinator.
She is responsible for communication with current graduate
students and those applying to the Master's program, at both
the Lawrence and Edwards Campus.
She is the first contact for graduate students seeking admission.
Cindy works with them through the admissions process and continues
to assist them with all the technical parts of graduate advising.
She provides resource material helpful to students, refers
them to appropriate faculty and other offices as needed.
Cindy is not afraid of hard work, she grew up on a farm in
rural Douglas County. She brings that optimistic, can-do attitude
to her job.
Nesvarba started her professional career as a dental assistant.
She worked three years for a dentist in Lawrence, a year for
an oral surgeon in Topeka, then for a podiatrist.
Cindy started her career at the University of Kansas as the
graduate secretary in the Economics Department before taking
the same position in the J-School.
