Curiculum Review Panel

For more than a decade, the School of Journalism and Mass Communication at KU has been nationally recognized as a leader in curricular creativity and vision. We are seeking again to transform ourselves in a world of communication that seems to have no rules and an uncertain future.

On Sept. 11, 2009, KU J-School faculty and staff spent the day with five professionals from a variety of backgrounds outside the field of journalism to learn about innovation, creativity and strategic change from the perspective of anticipating new "environments" and developing effective responses. Each of the workshop participants has been involved in changing the focus or direction of his organization or him or herself.

The goal of the workshop was to get faculty and staff to think about the future, change and curriculum in new and different ways.

More about our workshop panelists:

  • Col. William M. Raymond, Director, Command & General Staff School, United States Army Command and General Staff College, U.S. Combined Arms Center, Fort Leavenworth, Kansas
  • Ross E. Bond, Associate Vice President and Operations Manager, HNTB Architecture, Kansas City
