Print Take J-School courses in Italy!

Employers increasingly seek significant international experience in job candidates.

Now you can get that experience without slowing your progress in the J-School and the University. Spend a semester in Paderno del Grappa, Italy, at the campus of Consortium International University (a group of more than 30 universities coordinated by the University of Kansas).

A semester in Italy might change your life -- for the better! KU students talk about it in these postcards from Italy.

For full details about costs, timetables, course listings, enrollment and more, see the Consortium Web site.

Travel
The semester schedule includes two one-week travel breaks. Students are encouraged to use one of the breaks for study-related travel. In addition, three long weekends typically are scheduled during the programs.

Convenient rail connections from Venice allow visits to locations in Italy, France, Germany, Switzerland, Austria and many European countries. Winter weekend ski trips give students a chance to ski some of the best slopes in Europe, and the summer beaches near Venice are considered among the best in Europe.

Location
The campus is in Paderno del Grappa, nestled in the foothills of the Dolomite Mountains about 45 miles north of Venice. It is a full-service campus with numerous classrooms, a 450-person theater, a large student cafeteria, dormitory rooms, computer and language labs and modern athletic facilities, including an indoor swimming pool, a weight room and a gymnasium.

Enrollment and Scholarships
Students get direct course credit at the University of Kansas. (The Consortium will work with students from other member universities to secure appropriate transfer credit or to provide for direct credit at their home institution if possible.) Students should check for the availability of scholarships and financial aid.
